New Orleans
Sep. 5th, 2005 03:36 pmMy one and hopefully only post. Living in Texas and at the coast that was a really bad hurricane and I have been through two. While I do feel bad for everyone that stranded if you were one of the people who flat refused to leave despite the MANDATORY evacuation my sympathy level is low. They were not doing this for their own good but for yours. To the ones who got stranded because of other reasons...my family is not only donating over $200.00 but we are also donating clothes. I am proud that the hospital I work for is not only taking in the sick, but raising money, food and clothing for the survivors. I can only hope that we as a nation and world will not have to see another hurricane of that degree again and if we do....may it be beyond our time. It is unfortunate that it took so long to get everything/everyone together to rescue everyone but shooting at the helios and ambulances is not going to help. They have to get the sick out first. I am glad that people have not lost the ability to love each other and are helping.
